There is a better Manaslu map on this site which includes Tsum Valley. Go to the interactive, zoomable Manaslu trekking map from Himalayan Map House on this page.
You can almost see on this map the route from Gorkha Bazar to Arughat Bazar. This can sometimes be a faster way to get to Arughat – first to bus from Kathmandu to Gorkha, then jeep from Gorkha to Arughat. That road is better than the direct road to Arughat which can sometimes be awful.
You can also see the Gorkha, Barpak and Rupina La routes going directly north from Gorkha.
There is accommodation now in Barpak and Larpak and a ‘road’ from Barpak to Gorkha, so it is possible to begin the trek this way and save a little time, should you wish to.
The Rupina La route remains challenging, and requires camping. Although a local guy is building (or planning to) simple stone shelters along that route, it will be several seasons before the Rupina La is trekkable without a tent.
